  1. good point. your right...but i dont think they will "gut the payroll". in fact, i heard the marlins will up their payroll to 35 - 40 million. but that is still not enough for me. it will still be the lowest in baseball. i want them to go out and sign some big names to put us over the top in the east. that is my main concern. that is why we need this stadium pronto. cant afford a delay. On the contrary!!! Loria is already planing to "dump" salaries again. He has 15 players going to arbitration and he wants to get rid of the ones who may cost the most......the Uggla's, Mike Jacobs etc. The talk is to bring up more minor leaguers next season thereby, cutting costs and you can bet, wins. Welcome back to losing again. Hope everybody enjoyed the feeling of being a winner because it ain't happen' again soon. I am getting SO SICK of these freakin' owners we have had. They are all a bunch of dirtbags!!!
  2. We probably don't need more outfielders, unless they're veterans who could make an immediate impact. We need a couplecorner outfielders. Not with the prospects the Marlins have coming up soon. besides raynor we dont have anyone who is a corner outfielder that is coming up anytime soon. Scott Cousins, Hermida, Ross, Maybin, Willingham, Carroll, Amezaga is a crowded outfield What makes you think they will all be here in spring training? That would be opposite Loria's commitment to losing.I'm surprised he is keeping the manager.....how dare he win and cost him more in salaries!!! Mark my words..........the Marlins will NOT have another winning season in the near future!!! Loria's beginning to remind me of the owner in the movie Major League. Up until recently, I have been VERY supportive of the Marlins and have posted messages to that end but, when I hear of the upcoming "sell off" of this team, yet again, I'm wondering why I even bother being a fan. If they would keep this team together and stay on this course, I would be fine with it. But,spending a mere 22 million last year and a possibility of it getting into the $30 million range this year seems like its too much to ask from Loria.
  3. Face facts guys. Whoever is up for arbitration is gone!!! We are going back to 65 wins again. The dismantling will continue. In a few years we will have a beautiful, brand new, empty retractable roof stadium with a losing franchise playing in it that is hellbent on being a AAAA minor league team for everybody else in baseball. After 15 years, I've given up on hoping. No owner we have will ever care about winning. All this dismantling crap has finally got to me. I'm now a permanent pessimist!
  4. ABSOLUTELY AGREE! This has been a very UNEXPECTED but, VERY SUCCESSFUL season! Lets hope Loria does NOT do what we are all expecting----dump some players rather then paying them.Because, if he keeps doing that, he will have a new, very beautiful and, VERY EMPTY retractable roof stadium! Its time to build a franchise WITH that new stadium!
