  1. I have ZERO doubt that YOU think you’re right. None.
  2. You were just waiting to post that. Anything that even resembled whatever story you created in your head. Guy clearly wasn’t being sexist
  3. I’m not saying you’re wrong, because I don’t have any hard proof on whose making what moves. By why do we have so many questions of what she’s in control of and what might fall on other peoples plates? I get this is a front office and everyone wants to be “collective”, but what’s the point of bringing her in to be GM if she isn’t calling a *majority* of the shots in terms of final roster? Of course, within budget constraints and ownership things. Got it. But using Denbo as a cushion doesn’t seem right to me. Again, not that he might not deserve some blame, but I’m evaluating this based of a simple question, “Do we have a championship caliber GM?”. At the end of the day, we have to use FA/Trade transactions, in-season roster management, and specifically in our case, prospect management as the key measuring sticks. I’ve seen enough to have a clear answer IMO. Does that make her “awful”? Maybe not. But I’m not seeing enough to prove she can be creative enough nor aggressive enough to change the trajectory of this org in a major way
  4. This. I’ve obviously been vocal about Kim. It doesn’t mean she’s done EVERYTHING wrong. We’ll sit here for hours and debate if a SP prospect has a good enough 3rd pitch to be a MLB pitcher. If a particular lineup is good enough to compete for WS titles. We need to have a conversation about if our GM is good enough to take this team from rebuilding to truly competitive. GM was way too important to simply say, “Meh, they’re ok” and then truly expect to win
  5. I mean, creating a story that includes a MLB GM being fed PR lines for a baseball interview is about as conspiracy as conspiracy gets. You’re telling me the General Manager of a Major League Baseball team, needs PR reps to tell them how to discuss baseball (to an already bias source whose feeding softballs). Not buying that one bit. MAYBE if it was some rugged, old school baseball guy who had a drinking problem. Feeding Kim Ng PR lines makes no sense.
  6. Fair enough. All I know for sure is that a large part of the GMs job is roster management. I know that they haven’t called Max Meyer up yet and have rolled with mediocrity. I know this organization has flaws, and even with those flaws, the big league product hasn’t been maximized due to asset allocation. Could there be an outside factor? Absolutely. But we don’t know for sure. What we do know is that our GM isn’t doing a great job at her sole responsibilities. Anything outside of that is shaky at best to evaluate on. This isn’t just a Max Meyer situation either. I don’t think Sherman advocated for 40% of our games to be bullpen starts for a large stretch of last year
  7. You need an owner how to tell you how to run a baseball team? If you need an owner to tell you to call Max up, youre not a championship caliber GM. That’s what we’re evaluating here. Is Kim Ng good enough to bring a WS to Miami. If the answer is no, every day she’s employed is a wasted day
  8. Yep. It’s roster management malpractice. That lies solely on the GM. Even more so then any FA/offseason acquisitions
  9. Max last pitched on 5/12. They need a starter for 5/17. Would be normal rest for him. Makes too much sense. If they still pass him for Castano, then they’re just not even trying
  10. It’s the same thing as last year when we had 2 bullpen games every 5 days. Michael Hill found a way to keep the ship together during a once in a lifetime pandemic/ covid outbreak. Kim Ng cant even manage a singular SP missing a few starts with a organization filled with premium arms
  11. If anybody but Meyer or Cabrera starts, that should be it for Kim Ng. We have a surplus of SP. In no world should Daniel Castano be starting games for this team. Poteet needs to remain in the role he’s had success. Anything other than Meyer/Cabrera, hell even Eury is roster management malpractice
  12. That would be one that actually would surprise me, yes. Simply because he’s basically Don. Why would you fire Don Mattingly and replace him with a worse version of him? Im not saying they’re not dumb enough to consider it, but someone in that building has to be smart enough to go in a different direction (not even necessarily the right one)
  13. To everyone mentioning “fire sales”, that’s not happening. The only players truly good enough to consider a fire sale are SP’s (Sandy) and that’s not happening. They’re not trading Jazz who is still insanely cheap and probably the most profitable player on the team from merch sales. The problem isn’t a potential fire sale. It’s the fact that they don’t have enough above average players to even conduct a fire sale. We have plenty of average. We need some firepower
  14. Same. This team isn’t going anywhere with Kim and Don as integral pieces of the org. I’m just waiting for that to change
  15. I for one am just glad we didn’t sign Kenley Jansen.
  16. Really glad we had Tommy Nance on the roster tonight and not an extra righty bench bat to face Rogers in a 1 run game
  17. Exactly this. The chances the guy gets called up now and goes on to make 25 straight starts and throw 140 innings is slim.
  18. If we’re going to play matchup, then why is Jesus Sanchez hitting here? Why not Ba? oh right, he’s the last guy on the bench because of poor in-game and overall roster management
  19. Then why is he the one facing Cronenworth & Manny Machado?
  20. Profar this year .841 ops vs lefties .662 ops vs righties Tell me again why Bender didn’t get to face Profar?
