  1. I want Found one on E-bay selling for $120.00 :banghead
  2. I went to the mall the other day to try and look for a Marlins hat. Went to all the sporting good stores and Lids, no one had the new merchandise. Well Lids had one orange hat, but they only had one and it was too small. A couple stores had no Marlins gear at all, but the ones that did were still carrying only the old logo. I would think that stores like that would update their inventory, right?
  3. We are definitely spoiled here and I've had the pleasure of living close enough to two of the best areas for brewing in California. One day I would like to go to Oregon and check out the Rogue brewery. In due time I guess. Right now me and a friend are venturing into actually brewing ourselves. We just did a batch about a week ago, should be done with the fermentation process in the next couple of days. Not expecting much from it though due to some troubles he had with the process lol
  4. I neither like nor speak to people who live in California... I'll take that as a compliment
  5. Here's the BA page for Pliny the Elder. It's counterpart, Pliny the Younger is the #1 overall beer on BA, and their brewery has several highly-rated beers, most of which are available only in CA. http://beeradvocate....rofile/863/7971 Russian River releases Pliny the Younger the first Friday of February every year for two weeks. This year it was released on the 3rd, but me and a group of friends went to the brewery on the 4th. Got in line at 6 in the morning and they opened at 1030, but I tell you it was well worth the wait. If not for the beer, but for the fact that by the time it opened the line was already going several blocks deep. We were the first ones in line and for a good ten minutes we were the only ones in the brew pub enjoying this amazing beer. I'm a huge IPA fan and it being a triple IPA was right up my alley. Easily a top choice for me if I had to choose between it and anything else. Also was able to try their taster set of all their other amazing beers. The sours were definitely a new experience that I want more of. Afterwards we headed to Lagunitas, tried a couple of their beers that I haven't had before and enjoyed Little Sumpin probably the most of out all. Wanted to head to Bear Republic as well, but there wasn't enough time. Going to breweries and brew-pubs is one of my favorite things to do. When I lived in San Diego it was awesome having Stone just a 20 minute drive away, not to mention others such as Green Flash, Lost Abbey (about 30 mins from where I was at), Ale Smith, Ballast Point, etc.
  6. Ken Rosenthal just tweeted: Ozzie emphatic: "Hanley is the man. I don't care who we bring in." Story coming on FOXSports.com.
  7. If the Reds were to get rid of Votto would they really want any first baseman in return? They do have Yonder Alonso afterall.
  8. Seems like whoever the Cards play don't want Big Mike to have the HR title.
  9. I don't know much about the ballhawking stuff, but I got curious that this Zack guy came to defend himself and mentioned the Conan interview so I found it online and watched it. The interview didn't seem bad, the charity was mentioned and explained a bit, but its funny that he stated on here that he doesn't snag balls from kids but said in the interview that he'll sit next to families and little kids because its easier to get a ball :lol
  10. There should be a way to get text alerts when Stanton is up so I know when to tune in
  11. Good Morning everyone. I take it since the Giants have 4 runs with their offense that Volstad has Sucked. ? I actually don't think he was terrible, but the Giants capitalized on each mistake by belting out three home runs.
  12. Our feared middle of the lineup is up with Stanton...Dobbs and Cameron
  13. Speaking of struggles, Boni is batting below .200 I think his last 10. Volstad blows.
  14. Jesus with the lineup the Marlins have out there you can't go out and walk the pitcher then turn around and give up a homer.
  15. Joe Cap just quoted Beinfest as saying Marlins had good solid reasons to option LoMo. LoMo has to concentrate on all aspects of being a major leaguer.
  16. I think some people are using this thread to bash LoMo's character simply because its convenient right now.
  17. What was said about Lomo saluting at the plate? I don't recall anything said but if so I would tell jack to pound sand for lomo's reason alone. Likewise I didn't have a problem with Hanleys gesture to his mother. It was when he was asked what he thought about Hanley basically carrying his bat with him down the first base line and he said "I tell you the truth, as long as he keeps hitting, he can carry it all the way around if he wants to. I don't bother with that petty stuff. You guys make a big issue out of pretty (stuff) like that. What's the difference? Is there any rule that says you can't carry it around? No, unless you're going to use it on the first baseman or second baseman. Big deal. Guys come to home plate, saluting and everything else --nobody says nothing. But a guy carries a bat around and you guys want to make a controversy out of it. If he wants to carry his bat around, wants to carry his glove around, I don't care....as long as he keeps hitting." http://miamiherald.typepad.com/fish_bytes/2011/07/07/ Those are the types of subtle jabs he's been taking at LoMo since he took over so I doubt Jack fought real hard against the move.
  18. You could kind of see this coming to a head as soon as jack took over. He took subtle jabs at LoMo about saluting at the plate, twitter, and whatever else he can when he started managing again. Then his quote today was something like "maybe he should concentrate on the game instead of being funny." I haven't personally noticed a lack of effort ever when he was on the field, if anything he's been visibly frustrated at times with his up and down performance. At the same time he's a player that's probably the most interactive with fans at signings, on twitter, and didn't he just give out almost 500 tickets to a recent ballgame? I feel like this could've been handled way better on both sides instead of creating this terrible story that makes the front office look like the bad guy and have everyone else voicing out support for LoMo and in general making the team out to be in a downward spiral more than it already is. In a sidenote: keith olbermann of all people has been going to town on twitter defending LoMo
  19. Can't say they didn't have their chances.
  20. Timmy is pitching well and all but he's walked a couple and had some high counts so if they can get him outta there by the 6th on pitch count alone our odds are looking a lot better.
  21. That didn't seem like a time when Stanton should hack away at anything
