Marlins Prioritizing High Contact Hitters this Off-season
rmc523 replied to Entendu's topic in Miami Marlins
We're not getting anyone noteworthy lol. -
clock reset again? When she says she's ready?
-
Her clock starts on June 25th, 2027.
-
Anybody related with hitting needs to go- scouting, coaches, etc
-
I'd like Joe Espada to get a chance. I read an article today throwing Eduardo Perez's name in the rumormill.....please no.
-
Are we getting a Don lookalike that manages the club just as badly for this "Don 'Tribute' Mattingly"?
-
In hindsight, he shouldn't have played. I knew the game was over when that happened. But his health is more important at this point. Hopefully he is truly ok.

Marlins Calling on Mets Fans to Attend Games vs Braves

And by extension, when everything is racist, then nothing is. Overuse the word - as has happened in recent years - and it dilutes the meaning. -

I'd argue that since then, more Mets fans have moved here than Braves fans are/were here, though. -

I just feel like in general, the current trend of putting everyone in their own box is the complete opposite of a push for diversity and inclusion and end of racist actions.....to me it'll only reinforce an "us vs. them" mentality for all races/groups. Should the idea not be that everyone can celebrate any culture? --- Just posing a question - what you think is racist about a chop? So the team just can't do anything at all associated with Native Americans? --- Never really knew the origins of the name.... https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=0390c220161b0286JmltdHM9MTY2NDMyMzIwMCZpZ3VpZD0wYTBhMDhhNS02MmFmLTZjODYtMGFlZC0xOTNhNjZhZjZhZTMmaW5zaWQ9NTQ4NQ&ptn=3&hsh=3&fclid=0a0a08a5-62af-6c86-0aed-193a66af6ae3&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cubWxiLmNvbS9uZXdzL2F0bGFudGEtYnJhdmVzLXRlYW0tbmFtZS1vcmlnaW4jOn46dGV4dD1BVExBTlRBJTIwLS0lMjBFdmVyJTIwd29uZGVyJTIwaG93JTIwdGhlJTIwQXRsYW50YSUyMEJyYXZlcyxvcmdhbml6YXRpb24lMjBuYW1lZCUyMGFmdGVyJTIwVGFtYW5lbmQlMkMlMjBhJTIwRGVsYXdhcmUlMjBJbmRpYW4lMjBjaGllZi4&ntb=1 Ever wonder how the Atlanta Braves got their name? Well, the origins date back more than a century, when the team was located in Boston and owned by a member of Tammany Hall, a New York City political organization named after Tamanend, a Delaware Indian chief. The history of the Braves organization goes back to 1876, when they were known as the Red Stockings. In 1883, they became the Beaneaters and kept that name until 1907, when new owner George Dovey changed it to the Doves. Back then, it was common for teams to be named after their owners. So, when William Russell bought the franchise before the 1911 season, the club became the Rustlers. The team was sold the following year to James Gaffney, an alderman for Tammany Hall, which used an Indian headdress for its emblem and referred to its members as Braves. -

Yes, because doing something that's been a sports team's in-game thing for a few decades automatically means all Braves fans are racist. -

It's more like a "can't believe it" statement asking if it's real.....thats crazy. -

Is this real? This feels like a joke from a parody account or something that we would joke about, not an official thing from the team. -

Yeah, I think he was let go too early, but I also don't have a problem with showing urgency/accountability......but the choice of going with Jennings was not the way to go. Yeah, every season was over once Stanton went down.
-
Then never ending clock lol. I bet we get close to spring training without a manager, and we sign the usual one or two washed up mid tier players and they try to pass it off as an amazing job/offseason. At the end of the day, she didn’t pull the trigger on a couple of trades that would’ve made a big difference.
-
Wasn’t it Redmond they got Rid of for that? I felt at the time like they should’ve kept him longer, but Loria had that impatient itch. wereent they like 16-22 or something like that at the time?
-
Well, then they'd only have to pay one guy to do 2 things....seems like something they'd like lol. I'd say 1) they should extend Mel now so they have him, and 2) may depend if Don latches on anywhere else, which I honestly don't see happening next season, unless another rebuilding club grabs him. Lol, I feel all Yankees requirements left with Jeter. I agree it'll probably be someone new. Not at all. But there definitely needs to be some sort of roster overhaul. For the 857th time lol
-
Considering most of us wanted him gone a few years ago, good lol

about time

Honestly, I wouldn’t have been entirely surprised if they brought him back because it seems like a think they’d do
