  1. Wooo! More money for Bruce to not spend.
  2. Eh. I was too lazy to read any of the explanation for what they did. When I think of Philly, I think of founding fathers type things...
  3. I got one of those too a while back. Freaked me out when I refreshed and it said I was banned.
  4. Jazz's hearing was yesterday according to MLBTR, so we'll get that result soon.
  5. See, I'd pronounce that like "Kaylee"
  6. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/01/padres-sign-wandy-peralta.html The Padres have agreed to a four-year, $16.5MM contract with free agent left-hander Wandy Peralta, Ken Rosenthal and Dennis Lin of The Athletic report. The deal contains three opt-out clauses, meaning Peralta will have the annual ability to opt back into free agency.
  7. Don't you know? Das is always right. He's either right, or you're wrong.
  8. Yup, Mas would've been better for sure.
  9. Maybe this will entice Bruce to sell! With this in the works, it does explain why they haven't done much in FA like expected.
  10. It’d be a very marlins move to not only sign someone that can’t stay on the field, but to count on them as plan A-Y.
  11. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/01/royals-sign-adam-frazier.html An active offseason for the Royals continued Tuesday, as the team announced the signing of veteran second baseman/left fielder Adam Frazier to a one-year contract with a 2025 mutual option. Frazier, a client of McKinnis Sports, will reportedly be guaranteed $4.5MM in the form of a $2MM base salary in 2024 and a $2.5MM buyout on the 2025 option, which is valued at $8.5MM.
  12. Yup, in a vacuum, it's a good "plan" - sustainable is fine if you do the moves that get you there. But we can't look at in that way - instead it's the 857th iteration of "sustainable" without any sustainability (or promised spending) and I'm over it.
  13. They've been preaching sustainability since they took over 6 years ago. I bought it the first time, as it does make sense. And I trusted that they'd follow through with the promise to spend when the time was right.....even if not Yankees levels, just to league average perhaps? They made the playoffs. The time is NOW. The only "sustainability" I see since Bruce took over is him sustaining the funds going to his pocketbook. Why should we believe it'll be different now?
  14. I think I figured it out..... Maybe Bendix is still using Kim's broken phone, and nobody told him the offseason started!
  15. I think part of it also has to do with the complete lack of absolutely any moves in the offseason, so when they go and do things like pull the throwbacks that many people like, it's another thing they're taking away/not doing for fans that have stuck with them through everything, only to slap them in the face yet again, with something that'd be an easy layup to keep fans somewhat happy.
  16. I'm left handed... This looks so much better.
  17. I think long term, we'll wind up being better off. But short term, it's painful.
  18. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/01/angels-agree-to-deal-with-aaron-hicks.html The Yanks released him last year and are still on the hook for what’s left, meaning the Angels will only owe the prorated $740K league minimum for any time spent on the roster, with that amount subtracted from what the Yankees pay. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/01/mariners-twins-finalizing-jorge-polanco-trade.html The Mariners and Twins have lined up on one of the bigger trades of the offseason. Seattle announced the acquisition of second baseman Jorge Polanco for four players: reliever Justin Topa, starter Anthony DeSclafani and prospects Gabriel Gonzalez and Darren Bowen, as well as cash considerations. The Mariners are reportedly including $8MM to cover two-thirds of DeSclafani’s $12MM salary for the upcoming campaign.
  19. Yeah, that's unfortunate. That guy will probably blame BS "lack of attendance on throwback Friday nights".
  20. They wouldn't make a road jersey a throwback. Oh i guess I haven't seen them fully.
  21. Yeah, there was a transition year when Nike took over, where I think they just slapped the nike logo on the existing designs.
