  1. Want to accomplish the goal of putting a winning team on the field while doing so responsibly?.. Sign Reyes to 3-5 years at 15-18 mil with whatever options necessary to get it done. Cespedes, the Cuban CF, is a must, even at 6-8 mil for 5 years. We need to solidify CF and I believe he will be a valuable piece to the team at a lost cost, given his potential production. Pujols would be nice, but not necessary if his demands are too high. Trade pieces: Lomo, Gaby, Nolasco, Coghlan, Dominguez...Should be able to receive two quality young starting pitchers. Shift LoMo to his natural position, 1B, and trade Gaby, Nolasco, Coghlan for a quality SP. If Gaby does not get it done and the SP is worth it, send LoMo in that package, as well. One of Gaby/Lomo needs to go, if not both. I am fine with Gaby holding down 1B..he is dependable defensively and low cost. Lomo projects better for the future, but may bring back better players in trades. Shedding Nolasco's contract is a MUST, as it frees up $$$ for free-agents. I am thinking Gio or Shields joins the staff one way or another this off-season. Sign Buehrle at 11-13 mil for 3-4 years and that locks down our number 2 slot, behind Johnson. Whomever we receive in our Nolasco, LoMo/Gaby trade will be our 3. Anibal at 4. Perhaps Zombrano for dirt cheap at 5, or one of our young guys like Sanaba, Volstad (or trade his a**), Hand. Rough estimates: Reyes 16.5 + Cuban CF 6 + Buehrle 12.5 = 35 mil Getting rid of Nolasco's salary would bring that number down to 25. The other players in the trade would negate the salaries coming in, plus or minus a few mil at the most. Im too lazy to find out exactly what those numbers would be. Lineup: 1. Reyes SS 2. Boni LF 3, Hanley 3B 4. Stanton RF 5. Cespedes CF 6. Morrison 1B 7. Infante 2B 8. Buck C 9. SP Rotation: 1. Johnson 2. Buehrle 3. Gio/Shields/pitcher received in big trade 4. Sanchez 5. Zambrano/Sanabia/Volstad Easily done and instantly contends for the World Series every year. The Marlins would still have room to sign another big player if they want to get closer to 100 mil. I really hope they make this happen. This please.
  2. I may cry if there's nothing after this performance.
  3. I hate to be negative, but incarcaratedbob is a guy who just throws everything at the wall and hopes something sticks. He said Girardi wasn't going back to that Yankees after last season, he said Melo was going to be traded to the Nets etc. etc. I would love for this to be true but I just don't think this guy is a credible source.
  4. Looks like LoMo played his last game as a Marlin. Deal is offiicial. I think I pooed a little. Thanks a lot.
  5. 2 players heading to White Sox Please be lying.
  6. I really wish they would've gone with a classier, simpler approach. I don't hate it, but I still don't think I'm going to be repping the Fish as much as I was before.
  7. Turning 17 that day. Would be a great way to celebrate my birthday.
  8. I care about a new manager because despite how much I respect and like McKeon, I don't really see how the team moves forward with him. The team has to see him as nothing more than a stopgap, due in large part to his age.
  9. I guess I'm not opposed to sticking with McKeon for another season, but if we can get a young up and coming manager, well its pretty clear what the better option would be. Any names that come to mind? BTW sorry if this topic has been discussed before, I scanned the first few pages and didn't see anything like it.
