  1. The only thing I dislike about Opening Day is that we only have a 1 game series, and the next day the team is off to somewhere else, and it will be over a week before they return to the ballpark.
  2. I think I had one of those moments when your eyes see something and your brain says something else. You are right....it's just over 7 hours. Watch is not broken, though you scared me there with that comment. Times like this I'm thankful I have an extended warranty from Omega.
  3. I think the lack of cheering is because well...this is Miami. I've been to a few games already and they have been great, but didn't have a real fan atmosphere. It seemed more like a cool place to be than GO MARLINS. Wierd you say that. At a ST game this year we were talking to a "generic" baseball fan behind us and he said he has tried being a Marlins fan but the fans don't know how to cheer on their team. Still think it is a strange thing to say. Do people get this idea because alot of times we are out-cheered because we are out-numbered? I can sympathize with the "generic" baseball fan. As a Marlins fan, it was frustrating as heck to see a game in Sunife Stadium. If you didn't boil yourself to death in the heat, or got soaked in the rain, you had to contend with bad sight lines and poor game attendance.
  4. Staying at home on my la-Z-boy recliner, watching the game on my obscenely large HD TV. If I get tired of watching the game home, I can always watch it at the local cigar shop while smoking a nice cigar stick.
  5. Only 11 hours and 42 minutes....the anxiety is killing me.
  6. Will be at home on my La-Z-Boy recliner, watching the game on my 60 inch HD TV. :Batter
  7. Went to the first exhibition game vs the Yankees and also the FIU/Marlins game. The new ballpark is a work of art, though the parking leaves a lot to be desired. I like the bobble head museum, the tacky green colors on some of the walls, and the interesting food venues. It definitely screams Miami! I may be the odd ball here, but when I saw the new home run sculpture at our new ballpark, I thought it was amazing. It looks so much better in real life than in pictures.
  8. Hello, long time Marlins fan, but new member to this forum. I normally hang out at fishstripes, but that site is not exactly very active and I have been interested in finding a more active forum for a long time. Opening day....as a Marlins fan since 1996, this is the most special opening day that I can remember. I've been to the new ballpark, and watching a game at Sunlife Stadium feels like torture when one compares the game experience to the one you get at Marlins Ballpark. It's never been sweeter being a Marlins fan than today...except for 1997 and 2003 Go Fish!!!
