on the radio now good interview.

some highlights

"never say never about any player traded (willis) but some players are harder to get and they know what they have in him and miggy both in the upper parts of the league"

Over power arms:

"cant teach arm strength and velocity" Hence the picking up of gregg, Linstrom and owens

Also said they were priced out of the market for some guys really but are still looking. That CF is pretty much an open competition with amazaga onwards to sanchez

he ducked the question pretty much of how he felt about arbitration instead of long term signings. Said something along the lines of likes players signed fairly on the field and playing when boog asked a second time.

overall was a good interview

I respect what Beinfest has done, and that he is only one of 30, but I hate reading interviews with him, or even trying to talk to him. It's the same old cliched rhetoric from him at all times (never say never, we know what we have and we know it's attractive to other teams, and we made an effort but we think it's fiscally responsible to stand pat).

Even the king of careful, Brian Cashman, has more fruitful interviews when he's allowed out of his hole every 3 months.
