Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I am a die hard Florida Marlins fan that is currently suffering the indignity of living in Ohio. I was born and raised in Ft Lauderdale, and I attended the Marlin's first game in 1993. I was a student at BCC North campus at the time, and the sky was blue, the birds were chirping, and all of my professors had cancelled class that day so they could attend the game. My buddy and I decided to basically empty out our bank accounts and hope that we could find a scalper that wouldn't give us too much of an anal raping. We did, although we sat so far back the birds said we were invading their personal space. I moved to Ohio about 10 years ago for work and have suffered between here and Memphis, Tn ever since. You might know me as the only guy in the Florida Marlins hat and jersey every time they come to town to play the Reds, although from time to time I have noticed more and more of us. Anyways, I just wanted to say hi and maybe posting on this board will make me feel a little closer to home, where my heart has never truly left.

What percentage of people who post introductions like this go on to become active members? 2 percent maybe?

Ya i was thinking that. It seems like every other week you have someone say hi and then you never hear from them again.

Who is latest active member that stuck around?

Hmmm...why did I get moved and where to? Honestly though, I do plan on sticking around. It is an internet forum, and most people will come in and say hi, only to never be heard from again. I'm not much of a forum guy, except for the forums I post on for work. I can assure you though that I wouldn't have wasted my time posting if I didn't plan to contribute. I've been lurking here for a while but I never posted because I honestly didn't have the time to contribute. I still don't, but I'm a homesick Marlins fan and I WILL find the time. Anyways, thanks to all that welcomed me.

Try being an out of country marlins fan.

Let me just say I have the utmost respect for you :notworthy You are doing something someone like me wishes they could do, but never had the balls to. Hey man, could you post an address? I'd like to send you a care package :D Are you a UFC fan?

I hear you man, and I wouldn't expect you to think otherwise. Let's just say we are both on the same team, and I'll let my actions speak for me :thumbup

Hmmm...ever make it to Dayton much? Do you know McCook Theater on Keowee St?

It's tough, but eventually I'll end up back home where I belong. By the way, to those that doubt...I'm not a confrontational guy. If you are a Marlins fan you are cool people to me, regardless of whether we agree or not. We might have different opinions and you might even think I'm a moron for my views, but if you are down with the Marlins I am down with you :notworthy
