I can't stand Carpenter, Dontrelle should have won they Cy Young in '05.
That being said, I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Carpenter: 21-5, 2.83 ERA, 1.06 WHIP
Willis: 22-10, 2.63 ERA, 1.13 WHIP

On top of that, Carpenter is a class act. Take off the teal colored glasses.

Dontrelle had more wins and a better era, he would have had atleast
four or five more wins if it wasn't for our crappy hitting. If I have
to take off my teal colored glasses then you have to take off
your blindfold. :thumbup

You say that as if Dontrelle isn't.

I never said that. Saying you can't stand a pitcher because he's dominant like louie did is retarded. He deserved the CY over Willis that year.

Its debatable who deserved the Cy, although I think most writers thought it was going to D-Train and were surprised that Carpenter got it if I remember the response.

Dontrelle was so dominant for such a long portion of that season that he truly deserved to win the Cy. Only the fact that he is a Marlin kept him from doing it because the Cardinals and Cubs are the ESPN faves of the national league.

I was wondering if anyone could find out how many innings Carpenter has averaged per start in the last few years?

Add whatever years innings you want togeather (A), add those years GS togeather (B), and then divide the sum of his innings by the sum of his GS (A/B) and that will give you his average inning per start. He hasn't worked out of bullpen since 2000, so if you want to go that far back you'd have to go through game logs to minus the amount of innings he worked out of the bullpen from his inning total for the year.

You posted stats that clearly favor Dontrelle and you still think Carpenter was
more worthy of the Cy? I think YOU are the one that's retarded my friend.

We all know he got hurt simply because he was the ace of my fantasy squad. It's like the Madden curse. :banghead

No, I don't have any Marlins this year.

**EDIT: I also drafted BJ Ryan and Dave Roberts.

I agree with you Admin, but he did kinda get rolled for that whole drunk driving/pissing in the street deal recently. Bet he's glad the wifey has a law degree.

Carpenter's team went to the playoffs (and won a hundred games), the Marlins didn't. Say what you will about that, but it certainly factored in to the decision.

Carpetner had a better VORP then Willis. Lower BB/9, more K/9, and less H/9. Plus Willis played in a better pitcher's park (look at their park adjusted ERA).

Not taking anything away from them, but Carpetner had a slightly better year in my view.

Roger Clemens was the best pitcher in the NL that year anyways. :)
