Uggla's ball was hit 4 seats to the right of me!! I was actually sitting in the seat where the guy who caught it was...but those seats were his and his family so me and my friends had to slide down a few...if you watch the footage, you can sort of see me in my Lowell jersey...but when they do the close up you can see my two buddies.

I have never been that close to a homerun ball it was awesome!! Opening Day was awesome!

Rich Waltz was on with Joe Rose this morning and said they are still waiting on the measurements. They should have them during today's game.

You could tell me Miggy's went 600 feet and I'd believe it, I think it was still on its way up when it hit the seats.

I heard the radio announcer say if the stands werent there it would have gone over 700 feet.

If I remember it went a few rows back of the 446-ish mark on the upper deck, so I'm thinking in the 450-460 ft range.

Uggla, Ramirez's double-play partner, won't surprise anyone with his power. He still prompted plenty of awestruck looks in the seventh. Uggla crushed a Micah Bowie offering into the upper deck between sections 452 and 453, just left of center field.

No estimated distance was announced, but figure somewhere in the 450-foot neighborhood.

lol 600-700 feet

thats funny

whats funny is that it was 700 feet against the wind. Had the wind been blowing out, they said it might approach 800 feet.

I remember noticing Uggla hit his right above the 452 sign on the upper deck, so his had to be at least that.

And I agree Tswift, Miguel's homer was definitely still on its way up when it hit those seats...

That may have been the section number

Whats even funnier is that gravity is stronger in Washington. Had that been in Colorado it might have approached 900 feet.

This is getting a lil out of hand...700, 900 feet?!?! I read an article stating that a guy who works for the Nationals by taking note of every single homerun hit at that stadium claimed that those two HR's were two of the longest he's seen, easliy eclipsing the 450 mark.

Gravity is stronger in Washington. Why do you think politicians have sagging cheeks?
