Cooper and Smith will be on the team next year. Both have some upside, especially Cooper.

I think Yankees want to add money for hunting Otani.

Cooper will turn to 27 next month, can played 1b and corner OF. .332/.393/.574 thru 113 games in AAA.

A lefty SP, Smith, 26, has 2.55 era in combined AAA career.

I assume this was a Denbo move actually.

This has Denbo all over it.  Cooper will be a potential 1b starter next year and Smith might be a back end of the rotation possibility.

Cooper already updated his Instagram account to say Miami Marlins. I like this guy already.

Yeah why use that international signing bonus pool money, it isn't like we need to help our system. Mike Hill seems to trade that money away annually.
he must think it's monopoly money..that dumb ass

I think the Marlins found a legitimate starter for their backend of the Rotation

95 MPH Fastball (can touch  98 MPH),  slider and changeup

Excellent K/BB rate Low HR rate

He would have had to been protected on the 40 man Roster

We got him on the cheap

I like the trade a lot

Cooper looks like a very nice bat,  Right-handed 1st baseman that can play the Outfield as well

It seem that the Yankees just gifted us these guys ...In Cooper's case , he had Bird, Headley and maybe even Tyler Austin ahead of him

Caleb Smith has a fastball in the upper 90s and a legitimate Slider. This guy might actually be a diamond in the rough.
