I almost feel like Brinson should have to win the job out of Spring Training. If he does not perform much better than Berti, Harold, and Villar (If they plan on giving him reps in CF) then he does not start period.

What's nice is that the Marlins have positioned themselves into this reality. Sure, they want Brinson to break out, but they also want Berti, Villar, Harold, and even Sierra to break out, to say nothing of Harrison and Brian Miller. There's no pressure as of now to stick with just Brinson, and with an option remaining, they can be patient with him too.

Enough to hang himself with, I say. Give him a shot - he has to win whatever he gets - and if he still does poorly, get rid of him somehow.
