I see zero downside to this, should be able to spin him off at deadline for a pretty good amount if he stays the same.

So it's the order to claim him and we're only behind the Tigers ?

Yes

Imagine being a Baltimore fan where Marlins fans are like “yea this makes sense.”

Is Baltimore’s front office trying to sign Lamar Jackson for CF to sell tickets?

Why was he put on waivers in the first place?
My only guess would be they didn't want to tender him a contract and pay the money. He has some good years in with the Brewers then one bad one but bounced back nicely. Would be good to have a 2B or around the infield. Honestly worth it.

Sure pick him up, but I would rather see Anderson at 3B and Villar in LF. Villar is a terrible 3B.

I think he’s an important pickup because, though I think he will eventually figure the league out and become an above average big leaguer, I think Isabel will still have some adjusting to do. So having a versatile guy like villar is a good thing (though I guess you have Berti for that role, but I’m even less sold on him tbh)

You mean in terms of the ability to get the player? If a player is non tendered, they become a free agent and can sign with any team.

I do believe he meant for waiver claims.

They should absolutely snatch up Villar. I have no idea what the Orioles are doing waiving a 4 WAR guy when their offense is already abysmal. But Angelos is notoriously cheap.
