The music store I work for got a promo copy in of the new Linkin Park and we played it..and we thought it was horrible..The songs seem uninspiring...There's one song that sounds like a mix between Crawling and One Step Closer...The lyrical hi-lite was "I wanna feel/I wanna heal.."...We had to immediately put Hybrid Theory in the player just to remember why Linkin Park sold a lot of albums...Another group suffering from First Album Is Too Good - Next Albums Cannot Compare (AKA Pearl Jam syndrome)
I just bought it and I think its great. All the cd's are coming out with an incentive to buy instead of dowloading it like short movies/behing the scenes films. Plus access to certain areas on their website only through a link from the cd. Anyway, I like it.
As for some of the comments about the punk/pop-rap/rock music....
I'm 29 and I listen to it all. I also listen to many other types of music.
It's all about something different.
I mean, Nirvana, STP, Pearl Jam are great bands....but we need to mix things up. Can you imagine if music never changed. What if disco was always played and every new band had that disco sound. It would be garbage right? I'm happy to say that as time goes on and music changes, I'll more than likely get into whatever is new....and still listen to the old stuff.
