Because Heyman, while not being a Marlins reporter only, is based in Miami and thus is more in tune with what the Marlins are up to than most other national reporters.Jon Heyman is a national sportswriter -- not a local guy. Why would he call out the Marlins specifically if there are "many, many teams" interested?
Yeah, I see what you mean. It is getting a little annoying to constantly see "out of price range" for the Marlins on almost every player they allegedly have interest in.Why everybody keep saying every FA we interested in were out of our price range !? did they really think we're a Taiwan professional baseball club !?
Honestly, I don't mind it, it doesn't make sense to overpay for a stopgap. The guy that should step it up for is Dickerson since his track record has been more consistent. Avisail has been up and down with production over the years.Yeah, I see what you mean. It is getting a little annoying to constantly see "out of price range" for the Marlins on almost every player they allegedly have interest in.
This, we can't just excuse them so easily when it sometimes seems like they bail out as soon as the price goes above super discount.I agree that they shouldn't be stupidly overpaying but sometimes it feels like they don't want to pay at all and it can't be that either especially when the current payroll commitments are so low.
