As their name might suggest, the top high-A pitching staff at Jupiter was out of this world. The Hammerheads (Marlins) were just a tick behind Lansing at 1.95, and just one of its 13 pitchers had an ERA above 3.86. Leading the way in the prospect-loaded rotation was right-hander Trevor Hutchinson. His career was off to a hot start as he sported a 3-0 record and a 1.33 ERA in four games. Right-hander Donald Levinski, acquired from the Expos in a 2002 trade, had a 2.36 ERA in five games, while right-hander Denny Bautista, a cousin and prot?g? of Pedro Martinez, had a 2.70 mark in four starts.

Rounding out the rotation was right-hander Nic Ungs (1.77 ERA), who made his mark in the minors in 2001 when he went 63 innings without walking a batter, and left-hander Todd Moser, who was 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA in four starts. Anchoring the bullpen were closer Kevin Cave (a 0.00 ERA and four saves in eight games) and Jerrod Fuell (a 0.00 ERA in nine games).

* Kevin Cave is name that is rising quickly in the Marlins eyes
