Marlins launch official Spanish website www.marlinsbeisbol.com

MIAMI -- The Florida Marlins today announced the launch of the team's official Spanish-language website: www.marlinsbeisbol.com. Fans will be able to access the Internet site beginning at 7:05 p.m today.
Marlinsbeisbol.com will include up-to-the-minute baseball information and stories in Spanish language. Marlins beat writers will produce original content and additional information will be provided by national and international wire services on a regular basis. The site will also include headlines, recaps and scores from around the league, as well as photo and video galleries.

Fans will also be able to listen to Marlins Hall-of-Famer Felo Ramirez and Yiky Quintana's live broadcast from WQBA 1140 AM by signing up for MLB Gameday Audio. Live television coverage will also be available through the league's MLB.TV services.

Marlinsbeisbol.com will also feature information about the Marlins Spanish language and Latin cultural events, including the Marlins Mermaids and the popular Cafecitos con los Marlins, Dominando con los Marlins and Fiesta Latina.

Information will also be available about the Marlins community programs and upcoming promotions throughout South Florida. The Marlins join the Angels, Astros, Dodgers, Padres, Rangers, White Sox, Giants, Devil Rays, Rockies, Mets and Yankees in producing both English and Spanish websites.

I love how they spelled "phillies" "filis" on the main headline.

Ph is greek, f is latin. English uses Ph to stay truer to greek, but Spanish is latin-based.

I know, I speak spanish perfectly. I just think it's funny cuz there's no such thing
as a "fili" in spanish, atleast that I know of. In fact, there's no such thing as a
"beis" or a "bol" either.

Filius is son in Latin. Hijo = son = filius :thumbup

Beisbol, like Futbol is a Spanglish creation. Take an anglo word and import it.

Exactly my thoughts!

Indeed it is an excellent idea and should have been done many moons ago. Glad they finally realized it!

It's hard to believe this didn't already exist, but better late than never, I suppose. And, yeah, I also thought this was another Admin site.

The site existed, the domain name is the new part.

Now Spanish-preferring Marlins fans won't have to search FloridaMarlins.com to see the schedule or news stories.

If you notice, the new domain name redirects you to the proper MLB URL.
