But Redman's outing didn't come without a scare. He bruised his pitching thumb while trying to execute a squeeze bunt in the fifth inning.

Although he said he doesn't expect to miss his next start, it's the kind of thing you almost expect to happen to the Marlins the way things have been going the past few days.

"He's done a beautiful job," Marlins manager Jeff Torborg said.

Redman's success is a little surprising seeing as how he entered the year with a 4.57 career ERA and had never won more than 12 games in a season.

You can almost understand why an Arizona newspaper, thinking it was printing a photo of Redman, actually ran a headshot of Marlins catcher Mike Redmond, who hit his second career triple as a pinch-hitter for Redman in the eighth.

"Maybe [Redmond] got the win," Redman joked after being told of the mistake, "but hopefully I got his triple."

Redman, a career AL pitcher, could use some help with the bat. Even when he's being asked to bunt.
