pitcher under 25 in Major League Baseball is...........

I dont care if he gave up a run in the ninth to end his second shutout attempt of the year.

His stuff, his mechanics, everything...its just simply that good.

I would almost argue that he is the best pitcher in baseball under 30, but I am not ready to make that arguement quite yet.

And oh yeah...he had 3 years of collegiate experience. Coicidence?

Mark Prior is awesome..
Brilliant Observation :shifty :p

Personally, I think he's great but IMO he is over-hyped. Their's tons of good young pitchers in The League and who know's who we will be talking about in 5 years. I think he will be an all-star but not this mega phenom everyone is talking about.

It's not that but how many times do we hear about can't miss prospects who never live up to expectations. I never said he's not going to be great but not The Phenom.

Remember Todd Van Poppel?

There is alway's these prospects coming and going and you know it.

J.D. Drew was called The Next Mickey Mantle

Look at Ben Greive

Has Mark Prior done anything to show that he will not be the best pitcher in this game?

He has shown me that he will be one of The Best Pitchers

Not the best.

I'd much rather have Hudson or Zito on my team. In fact if I was allowed to take one pitcher out of The Cubs system it would be Wood. WHo has completly recovered from TJ

Prior will be better than Wood.....

But I would take either on my team.

Hudson and Zito have more experiece in the big leagues....give Prior a year to learn the bigs adn look out.

*Caugh* Brett Myers *Caugh*

1 run in 6 innings today and...

Going into today had 2.08 ERA. Prior maybe the best young gun but remember Myers owned him in his first start.

Comparing Mark Prior to Todd Van Poppel might be one of the single dumbest things I've ever read. Just for the record.

TVP never did anything close to what Prior is doing right now. Prior's past the prospect stage at this point.

And Wood is WAY too inconsistent. He's more-hyped, few more strikeouts, Cubs version of Beckett right now. His numbers (beyond K) aren't THAT great. He's like 12-12 isn't he? (And yes, I am just bitter because he's on my fantasy squad...both Wood and Beckett are actually)

Prior has always been good since coming up. He has great mechanics and a huge upper body which helps him throw harder. He has a good Breaking ball and change up too. He will be around for a long time. I would want to see willis and prior in about 10 years from now. :p

Prior has better command of his pitches than any other 22 year old in the history of baseball.

but i was the first on this board to say it.

whether he is the best in the history of this game...i dont know.

right now though....you can make a very strong case for him being the best in baseball TODAY.
