"You just have to keep working with him on the side as much as you can," Torborg said. "He and [pitching coach Brad Arnsberg]have been working every day."
The key term here Jeff is work with him "ON THE SIDE"!!! Not in the late innings of a 1-run game!!!

Surplus pitching is available in the minors. Triple-A Albuquerque right-hander Allen Levrault may not be far from making his Marlins debut. He has tossed 10 scoreless innings in seven relief appearances and has 37 games of major league experience (2000-01).

The Marlins may have cleared a 40-man roster last week with an eye toward promoting the 6-foot-3, 230-pound Levrault.

Nunez makes 1.5 million, more than anyone in the pen but Looper. He makes twice as much as Almanza, and ten times as much as Spooney, Neal, or Tejera. Remember Nunez even filed for arbitration hoping to get 1.75!

I remember the days when the Marlins had Alfonseca, Felix Heredia, Ed Vosberg, Dennis Cook, Jay Powell, and Rob Nen in the bullpen. Sigh...

He's losing faith? About time! Now, go the whole way and get him demoted for a bit so he can work things out.

Nunez can be an asset but so far he's a huge liability.

Yeah that's the thing Admin. He's pitched pretty well at most times in the past. There are times when I would've felt fine handing him the ball to pitch the 7th and 8th innings setting up for a closer. But now is not that time. Torborg's got to shut him down for now for the team's sake.

Here's more reason why the Marlins made a stupid mistake going into the season with this bull pen and LF. Add up the money they are spending on this guy and Hollandsworth( 1 million a year). They would have been able to keep Millar(sign for 2.5 million). Who would have replace Nunez at the cheap? well how bout Toby Borland. Who pitch well last year when he was call-up and is pitching well at Triple "A". If the Marlins wanted a left-handed so bad on the cheap they should have signed OF Jose Cruz JR (sign 1yr 1 million) JMO :angry
