Is it just hyperbole for me to say that Vanden Hurk has surpassed all of the fab 5 1st rounders as our top pitching prospect right now? Maybe even our best prospect?

Just to add to that, I was kind of hoping someone would say "zOMg he was soooo bad in his starts for the marlins though!!"

I thought he was very impressive as a 21 year old in the majors,he just had a few bad breaks and calls. He has an awesome delivery, isn't afraid to challenge hitters and his curve is extremely impressive. He is Josh Beckett Lite.

Speaking of our pitching prospects, any reason Jacob Marceaux has not pitched since May 2nd? He is still listed as active, but no action.

Also, is anyone concerned with the lack of success Volstad is having in Jupiter, I know it is early in the season, but he is giving up a ludicrous number of hits per start. I know he gets a lot of ground balls and they may just be finding holes, but still.

Finally, any further word on Sinkbeil?

Wow Carroll may be up very soon, if ADA is still out another week or so he may get the call. I just don't see Abercrombie decorating the bench that long

If Jake is out awhile I would like Pascucci to get his chance as well

I agree. Even though he struggled a bit, his stuff is awesome. Once he gets a bit more experience, he's going to be a top of the rotation pitcher. He's got a great curve and he can throw his fastball past hitters. Give him the rest of the year in AA and he'll be in the big league rotation next season.

I'd echo that, I was pretty impressed too. He got knocked around a little but he was generally right around the strike zone & was going right after guys. There was good stuff there.

I heard Sinkbeil went on DL, elbow or shoulder?, Butchy would probably know more. Good to see Carroll still doing well, also good to see Milly beat former Marlin farmhand Chick.
