Willis 2nd only to Ruth

Little tidbit from the AP Recap

Willis (3-0) is 12-1 with a .923 winning percentage in April. That's the second-best career percentage in April to the 13-1, .929 of Babe Ruth, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

I found that interesting.

He still has 2-3 starts remaining this month (I think), so he might be able to top that this season.

Always nice to be able to draw comparisions to Babe. I often forgot that Babe was a helluva pitcher too.

Never ceases to amaze me how talented the Babe was.

Definitely the greatest baseball player ever to play the game.

Trelle is just nasty in April.

Did some number crunching. Last season, in his 34 starts, the Marlins' offense averaged 2.7 runs. This year, they're averaging 9.3 runs.

Agreed Ruth was and will always be the best baseball player ever. AS for Willis he is unstoppable in April. Hopefully he pitches like that for the whole season. :thumbup

Making up for last years pitiful run support. :mischief2

WTG D-Train, honestly he's the only pitcher in the majors that I've seen that could make the switch to a position player like the Babe, he wouldn't hit 700 HRs but would put up better numbers than Reggie or Reed from from last season

John Smoltz would play a nice defensive CF if he ever got the chance.

3 or less ER in 3 games...not too shabby.

I'm thinking 300 wins!

Ruth was a HOF caliber pitcher before he was a HOF outfielder.

Oh great, I thought the whole chasing the Babe thing was done when Bonds passed him. Now Dontrelle has to get two more victories this month without a loss and we're good...
