Since we have so many potentially successful arms in our organization, I just wanted to devote a thread to keeping an eye on their seasons, stats, and scouting reports. I've just compiled stuff for the top young starters, not any of the bullpen guys. I will update this post daily, and you can feel free to comment on any pitcher's progress or if you know anything.

May 30th - June 5th Updates: A lot has happened since the last update. Thompson and Taylor were on hot streaks and both imploded last week, but I think they are both pitching tonight, so maybe they can bounce back. The good news is some of the top prospects who had been perfoming badly pulled together some good starts. Gaby went 6 allowing 1, while Volstad went 6 allowing 2. Tucker continues to improve and pitch very well as of late. Vandy's pitching with the big club tonight in the double header, so that will erase his MILB start, but he has been pitching very well for most of his outings since he has been in AA. Check the lines below...

Gaby Hernandez, AA; 2-6, 58.0 IP, 4.81 ERA, 52 K's, 24 BB, .259 BAA
most recent outing: ND, 6.0 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 6 K's -- June 4th

Rick Vanden Hurk, AA; 2-1, 36 IP, 3.50 ERA, 44 K's, 12 BB, .208
most recent outing: ND, 5.2 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 8 K's -- May 31st

Chris Volstad, High A; 4-5, 61 IP, 5.16 ERA, 44 K's, 18 BB, .302 BAA
most recent outing: W, 6.0 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 3 K -- June 1st

Brett Sinkbeil, High A; 1-2, 13.1 IP, 5.40 ERA, 9 K's, 4 BB, .281 BAA
most recent outing: ND, 5.0 IP, 4 ER (6 R), 11 H, 0 BB, 1 K's -- May 31st

Aaron Thompson, High A; 2-3, 58.2 IP, 3.22 ERA, 47 K's, 17 BB, .259 BAA
most recent outing: L, 4.2 IP, 4 ER (8 R), 9 H, 2 BB, 5 K's -- May 30th

Ryan Tucker, High A; 3-3, 52.0 IP, 4.50 ERA, 35 K's, 22 BB, .265 BAA
most recent outing: L, 7.0 IP, 1 ER (2 R), 6 H, 0 BB, 5 K's -- June 4th

Paul Mildren, AAA; 3-4, 48.1 IP, 4.47 ERA, 32 K's, 24 BB, .225 BAA
most recent outing: ND, 6 IP, 3 ER, 4 H, 4 BB, 4 K's -- May 30th

Jesus Delgado, AA; 4-3, 46 IP, 3.72 ERA, 44 K's, 27 BB, .250 BAA
most recent outing: L, 4.2 IP, 4 ER, 7 H, 2 BB, 1 K's -- June 2nd

Graham Taylor, A; 6-1, 70 IP, 2.06 ERA, 54 K's, 5 BB, .190 BAA

Great thread, this is one I will be checking often. Sinkbeil certainly seemed to have gotten rocked in his last outing.

Good idea Bucklin, but just one suggestion, change ERA in last start to ER, easier to understand also maybe put the date just so we know when they are up next etc.

Yeah, I will add ER instead of ERA in the most recent outing, but I'll keep the season ERA.

Yeah Sinkbeil did get rocked yesterday, but it was against some fantastic hitters.

Gaby had a fantastic outing as well as Volstad. Graham continues to absolutely attack the plate.

Awesome idea :thumbup .

I just noticed Graham Taylor has 15k's in 12 innings and 0 walks. Pretty impressive.

Most important thing for Tucker were the zero walks.

Thanks for the update. I'm more intrigued by Tucker than the other youngsters, although I think Volstad should increase his k's this year.

Good thread...can you add homers allowed as well? it's a very important statistic in developing pitchers. (although hard to gauge in the FSL)

Man, Graham Taylor really brought it back very strong after his last tough outing, and if you can believe this, the guy has only walked 1 in 25 innings, while striking out 24.

We drafted Graham Taylor last year (2006, 10th Round) out of Miami. He's a big guy at 6'4" / 210 and I am anixous to see what happens with his good start.

Yep. Miami of Ohio. Sorry, forgot to clarify.

His stats are VERY interesting. I always look at HR/9 and K/BB ratio to judge the early development of an arm, and his both are outstanding and always have been. Last year he allowed .27 HR/9 and .55 BB/9 at Jamestown in 13 starts. Plus his main category stats were impressive (2.47 ERA and 0.96 WHIP at Jamestown). I know it's Jamestown, but even in college his highest season ERA was 3.83 as a freshman at Miami-Ohio. He continues to improve as his Junior/Senior year combined ERA was 2.89.

I'm excited for him.

I am most intrigued about Kyle Winters for some reason. Dont ask why, but am expecting big things from him.

Nice to see Taylor pitching well too.
