g8trz2003
yah its a good video, but that song will get overplayed just like Hey Ya. Go buy the cd everyone...Outkast has more good songs besides the ones on MTV.
MiRi
I love that song. Outkast is awesome.
Rebirth
Radio stations overplay every song they have. They play it every single hour. But the CD is good.
g8trz2003
the cd is amazing. I love how people love Outkast...but probably only know songs like Rosa Parks, BOB, Ms. Jackson, Hey Ya, So Fresh and So Clean, maybe they know ATLiens or Elevators...they don't know sh*t like Funky Ride, Chonkyfire, 2 Dope Boyz, etc. Nor do they know their stuff that they do with Goodie M.O.B., Eightball & MJG, members of DF, etc. So when people like Outkast...it usually means whatever theyve heard on the radio. Buckeye
"My name is Cupid Valentino..." And I can honestly say that B.O.B. is my favorite all-time Outkast song. Anyone who saw it performed on the Chris Rock Show knows what I'm talking about... FEATHER BOA SUIT WITH TIGHTY WHITEYS UNDERNEAF!
Mark
OutKast is totally getting watered down nowadays. Their earlier stuff is sooo much better. It is a shame they didn't get recognized by the Grammys until this year so much. ATLiens is the best rap album of all times IMO. ATLiens, Two Dope Boyz, Wheelz of Steel, and the list goes on. Listen to all their CD's. You will not be disappointed!
g8trz2003
ATLiens and Aquemini....I can't decide which one I like better....possibly my favorite Outkast song (Chonkyfire) is on Aquemini...along with Da Art of Storytellin' Parts 1 and 2, Return of the 'G', etc.....but ATLiens has Atliens, 2 Dope Boyz, Wheels of Steel...geez I dunno which one is better. Buckeye
In my eyes Big Boi (AKA: Freddie Floater, etc, etc, etc) is the only one of the two even remotely shnowing signs of "watering down." Andre is going into uncharted areas in hip-hop, and could be one of the few hip-hop artists who, in my eyes, overcomes the hump that all hip-hop seems to have: his music could be timeless (in my mind a lot of hip-hop just contains timely material that gets old when listened to even so far as a year later; I pop in a cd from last year and ask "WHAT was I thinking!?"). If the two keep doing stuff together, I see no way they get stale, however.
Izzie
Outkast is cool and everything but not a big enough fan to get their CD.
g8trz2003
the first time I heard Outkast (no, I wasn't with them since 94) was a few years ago...when I heard the ATLiens cd...I was amazed by their vocabulary, how they don't have to use the f-bomb every 3 words, have songs that actually talk about things besides "being my girlfriend", "pimpin hoes", "the dirty south", etc. They use words like "dilapidated wood" (Black Ice...actually a Goodie MOB song) and "eloquence" and "clandestine". I mean, most people on this board don't know what clandestine means (it means undercover or secretive) or what delapidated (sp?) means. I was impressed that their songs actually were deep, and in the process, I've grown to love Dungeon Family as a whole (Gipp can flow, and Cee-lo is amazingly deep, and throw in such characters as Big Rube). They truly are amazing, and never were the norm when it comes to rap.
nc marlin
Outkast is awesome. My favorite songs are Spottieottiedopaliscious and Aquemini.
Shamrock
Andre is the George Harrison of hip-hop.
g8trz2003
Outkast is awesome. My favorite songs are Spottieottiedopaliscious and Aquemini. Spottieottiedopalicious is the first rap song I've heard that uses horns. I hear that on Rosa Parks, Andre's pastor is the one playing the harmonica. That makes it even sweeter knowing it was actually played, and not synthesized.

DaGreatOne
Outkast is probably my favorite rap group. Their so innovative and like Furman said they dont have to curse every other word or talk about hoes only. I'm thinking of purchasing their earlier albums to add to my collection. I have Stankonia, Speakerboxxx, Love Below and the Greatest Hits cd. From the other Albums they have which ones do you guys recommend I buy first? minus
One of the first cd I ever bought was ATLiens. I'll have to say Outkast and Goodie Mob are my favorites from south.

I know the Roots is definitely good music. Rap is good anyways but when you take it and put it to like an acoustic guitar or something it can be pretty awesome. I just don't like dirty south/crunk at all. I have a pretty extensive rap cd collection that is always growing.
Mark
From the other Albums they have which ones do you guys recommend I buy first? Gotta get ATLiens or Aquemini. Their first album, Southernplayalisticcadilacmusik (spelling?) is good too, but not at the same level as those two. If you like more general rap go for ATLiens, for more creative stuff I'd check out Aquemini.
g8trz2003
Aquemini and ATLiens are my picks if you were to go ahead and buy an older cd. It's a tossup in my opinion. I love both. ATLiens is the first Outkast cd I owned.
DaGreatOne
Thanks guys I'll go check them out this week at Bestbuy or some record store if I cant find them there. And The Roots I'd recommend if you like a change from gangsta and pop rap out there.
