Guest Moneyball
As Dave van Boring said earlier during the game. The San Diego Padres have sold 2.1 million tickets sa far for their first year at PETCO Park. They are expecting 2.8 million fans this year, that's 250,000 higher than any other year in Padres' history. Kinda makes you think what type of attendance numbers the Marlins could put up in a new ballpark. That's roughly 34,500 fans a game. You can expect the number to get higher if the Padres stay in the playoff hunt (which I predict they will win the west.) By the way the Marlins had 18,000 paid attendance at PPS tonight, very good considering we had 10,000 last year versus the Phillies. 18,000 considering it's a Wednesday versus the Expos. Expect higher numbers for tomorrow considering it's the D-Train pitching.
