CapeFish
04/24/2004 6:04 PM ET Florida Coca-Cola celebrates champs with bottle Specially produced, limited-edition Marlins bottles now available! Hollywood, FL (April 23, 2004) -- With opening day fresh in their minds, Florida baseball fans can now toast their hometown team -- the Florida Marlins -- with special 8-ounce Coca-Cola bottles commemorating the team's recent championship. The customized carrier and bottles of Coca-Cola classic feature the Marlins' logo along with a message recognizing the team's recent accomplishment: "The Refreshing Taste of Victory: Marlins 2003 Champions." The Florida Coca-Cola Bottling Company produced 25,000 cases of these specially designed bottles, which will only be available while supplies last. The six-packs can currently be found on the shelves of supermarkets, convenience stores and other retails outlets in South Florida: from Ft. Pierce to the Florida Keys, and as far west as Ft. Myers. "We are very excited to continue to share our world championship with a very deserving public," said David Samson, President, Florida Marlins. "The Marlins organization is proud to be associated with a winning tradition like Florida Coca-Cola." Last week, with help from "Billy the Marlin," the Florida Coca-Cola Bottling Company unveiled this newest commemorative bottle to consumers. In addition, souvenir cans commemorating the Marlins' championship were released last fall. "If our experience with the sale of other souvenir cans or bottles is any indication, these commemorative six-packs won't be available for long," said Ray Gough, South Area Vice President, Florida Coca-Cola Bottling Company. "Our Company is proud to be able to recognize the Marlins on their championship season and honor the team in this way." Through a recent agreement, Coca-Cola announced plans to continue to refresh Florida Marlins fans through the 2006 season. Since the team's franchise was established in 1993, Coca-Cola has been the Official Soft Drink Partner of the Florida Marlins. The Florida Coca-Cola Bottling Company is a part of Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc., the world's largest marketer, distributor and producer of bottled and canned liquid nonalcoholic refreshment. Coca-Cola Enterprises sells approximately 80 percent of The Coca-Cola Company's bottle and can volume in North America and is the sole licensed bottler for products of The Coca-Cola Company in Belgium, Great Britain, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and most of France. fanofthefish
Man I hope these bottles make it up to Central Florida. They kept all the cans down there. I had no problem in 97 getting the bottles up here as I still have two 6 packs. If anyone sees them towards Orlando give a heads up please.
