Das Texan
This little small event is fixin to start. Last year dead money won for the second year in a row as Chris Moneymaker took the title and the cash back home with him. Robert Varkoni did it the year before. what happens in 2004? Dead money or professional? Your thoughts....also list your favorite poker players here.

Hanleylicious
my two personal favorites are Ivey and Lederer even though I dont really root for anyone in particular to win these events. Ngueyn is also great to watch...
jmenjes
I'm reading Phil Hellmuth's book right now, actually (Play Poker Like the Pros). I'm hoping to get some insights for when I play Hold 'Em on my Hoyle Casino game. Maybe one night we should set up a tournament just for us on one of the online poker sites, and see just how well everyone can play.

jmenjes
I was just reading the tournament updates at ultimatebet.com (Phil Hellmuth's site, BTW; there's daily WSOP updates there). There were 2600 players that started the big tournament yesterday. 2600! :o If you finish in the top 225 players, you win money. 3rd place wins $2.5 million (last year's first place money). 2nd place wins $3.5 million. And for winning the whole thing, you get a cool $5 million. Mamas don't let your kids grow up to be ballplayers, raise 'em to be poker players! :lol Quick update...Sam Farha's out...busted tonight.
