MasterChief
Totally agree. After Schmidt's start today, he deserves to start the all-star game. 1-hitting a team, much less the redsoxs, isn't easy.
Passion
No doubt, he was flawless. The guy has no fear right now and is mowing people down.

MVPosey
While Schmidt is having the best year in the NL, Clemens should get the start just because it's in Houston.
Mark
You know I gotta go with my boy Pudge at C. .360, 10 HR, 50 RBI That's just team bias, because Victor Martinez is having a heck of a year and is deserving as well.

I think that argument is stupid, it shoudl be based on who is having hte better season no the sentimental crap.

You aren't biased; you are right. Pudge has the highest batting average in MLB (.373) and leads the AL in batting average with RISP. He has a higher on base percentage, slugging percentage, more RBIs and the same amount of homers as Martinez. He also has 6 stolen bases (Martinez has 0). He is the most deserving starter in the AL at catcher. Carlos Guillen is getting no love on this thread, but he's been the best offensive SS in MLB and also deserves consideration for the All Star game, although he certainly won't be voted in. Mark
You're right about Carlos Guillen. Even ESPN's Rob Neyer (I guess he has credibility) says that Guillen has been the best offensive shortstop this year. He should be a reserve, but I don't think it will happen.
