July 13, 200421 yr Author why did the Sunshine network stop showing marlins games??? 455456[/snapback] Wayne bought SportsChannel Florida (now FSN Florida) and put the games on there. Marlins went from 60 some games on Sunshine to 95 games on FSN.

July 14, 200421 yr Author Response from WRDQ: It's not quite as simple as that. When we pick up games, we displace other programs that we have contractual obligations to. Even if the games are free, the Marlins (I'm sure) put in their own advertising. They probably leave a very limited amount for the station. This would end up causing a loss of revenue for us. These kinds of things have to be negotiated with the team so that you don't loose a truckload of revenue because of the team consuming all of the advertising time in the game. Thank you e-mail though, we always evaluate opportunities like this when they arise for the station. John Keyes I will get in contact with the Marlins and see what I can do here.
