from Entertainment Weekly:

Pierce Brosnan tells Entertainment Weekly that he's done with the James Bond franchise, opening the door for possible replacements.

"That's it," says the now former 007, "I've said all I've got to say on the world of James Bond." He says that Die Another Day will be his last Bond film and he's not returning for a fifth movie. "Bond is another lifetime, behind me."

Sean Connery quit the James Bond franchise as well, before being lured back for bigger bucks by England-based Eon productions, which produces the 007 films. If this doesn't happen, the company will have to find another actor to fill the role for "James Bond 21," scheduled for a November 18, 2005 release.

After "Die Another Day" I wouldn't do another Bond either.

"Goldeneye" is in my opinion though the best James Bond movie. Pierce was my favorite Bond.

I agree that GoldenEye was the best Bond movie, but I liked Die Another Day, it had just about everything that a Bond movie should have, including a great scene with one of my favorite cars (Aston Martin V12 Vanquish).
