Heat Announce Preseason Schedule

Heat to play only one of seven preseason games at AAArena







The Shaquille O'Neal show will also be featured in the preseason, with the Heat opening its exhibition slate against expected Western power Houston and a date against defending champion Detroit also on the schedule.


The preseason schedule was released Wednesday, and it calls for seven preseason games, but just one at AmericanAirlines Arena, Oct. 18 against the Hawks. The Heat will play its other exhibition games at Houston, against Orlando in St. Petersburg, against Detroit in Little Rock, Ark., at Atlanta, at Charlotte and at Orlando.


The preseason opener against Houston will have the Heat kicking off its new era with a matchup of Yao Ming and O'Neal, one of the most riveting center matchups in the game today. Houston has also added star guard Tracy McGrady.


Tickets for the single game in Miami will go on a sale at a later date.

? Oct. 15, vs. Orlando at St. Pete Times Forum, Tampa, 8 p.m.


? Oct. 16, vs. Detroit at Alltel Arena, Little Rock, Ark., 8:30 p.m.

Local television hasn't been announced, but TNT will broadcast the game on October 22.
