The Marlins plan to retain announcers Dave Van Horne and Jon Sciambi, whose contracts expire at the end of the season.

Marlins Radio Network plans to retain both so expect them back next year along most of the network except possibly in Miami where WQAM may not be able to keep the Marlins.

That is WQAM spin. WQAM also says in that article that they don't expect 790 to do better than 1.5 after 2 books while WQAM has a 4. I am looking at the Arbitrons ratings right now and WQAM has a 2.7 the last book, and nothing above a 2.8 in the last 5 books. A book comes out every 3 months.

Last book came out Jul 28, 2004, next one comes out Aug 27, 2004.

WQAM will be around 4.1 now that they added Howard Stern.

That has yet to be seen. Dolphins and Marlins can't raise the average over 3.0, you expect a show that is more commercials than show to do well in Miami AM radio? I don't think they will get a 4.1

You have no idea how big Howard Stern is in Miami?

I don't think he will even pull half the audience he had on 105.9 with WQAM. 560 AM is weak and his show has too many commercials. Howard Stern won't bring them to a 4.1 unless they play him 24/7 except for sporting events.

Phillies might get tossed off their flagship WPEN in Philly :D

In less than 5 years they go from Philly's strongest AM to one of it's weakest, and may now get kicked off that!

They should. A lot of areas cant get the games at night and are forced to use side stations broadcasting the game from the flagship. They lose their signal at night to Buffallo or somethin.

Correct. WPHT used to air Phils games, but since WPHT and WIP are both owned by CBS and the Phils burned bridges leaving, the Phils will need some miracles or they will be on an even worse station than WPEN.
