Posted September 6, 200420 yr I ask Marlins management not to allow the Cubs to get away with playing ANY Marlins home games in Chicago. Play the double-header in Miami on Sept. 20th and the extra game on Oct. 4th in Miami. Do not let the Tribune Company steal those gate monies from you! The fans of South Florida bought the tickets and deserve to see the series they payed for!
September 6, 200420 yr If the games are moved to Wrigley, don't worry, Marlins fans will still be able to go. They just need to buy a plane ticket and ticket from the CUB'S OWN SCALPING COMPANY!
September 6, 200420 yr Well it seems more and more likely that this will happen. It only makes me hate the Cubs more.
September 6, 200420 yr BTW, Cape, what time do you think the double header would be on the 20th? Starting at 5 or starting at 3 or what?
September 6, 200420 yr chances are, the game will be played in Chicago. It totally sucks, I had a ticket to Sat. game...
September 6, 200420 yr Author If I am the Marlins owner I will not let them play at Wrigley. Either the Cubs play all 3 games in Miami or they shall forfeit any games not played. If the league doesn't allow it, Loria should sue them and the Chicago Cubs for lost gate monies.

BTW, does anyone know whether the Sept. 20 doubleheader will start at like 1 or 3 or 5?
September 6, 200420 yr bud will probably enact the best interests of baseball clause. i wouldnt be shocked to see him do the same with the doubleheader on teh 20th.

September 6, 200420 yr Author If we must play 2 games on the same day in Chicago, then let's not give anything to the Cubs. Make a deal to use U.S. Cellular Field (a modern baseball facility) for that one game and let the White Sox fans come in dressed up in Marlins stuff. Could you imagine the sales? It would be another Wreck by Veeck type stunt and make it at least a bit fairer. NOTE: White Sox are on the road that weekend.

September 6, 200420 yr I WANT U.S. CELLULAR FIELD! DOWN WITH WRIGLEY! 545054 Word! Not even playing against the home team, but that bandbox makes me uncomfortable.

September 6, 200420 yr Author its in the lease of the stadium i believe. 545073 White Sox have the only veto.
September 6, 200420 yr No one is going to sue anyone. MLB will pay the Marlins for some % of lost revenue, either reducing the Marlins debt or making an under the table (legally but without fanfare) payment or compensation from revenue sharing. I have a couple of ideas. Play a doubleheader with the Cubs on the day between the last day of the season and the day of the playoffs. The games only need to be played if they will change the outcome of a division and wildcard race. Or let's say the Marlins are up 2 1/2 games at the end of the regular season (in this case 160 games). You wouldn't play the games at all. There other idea would be to play the disputed game with the Cubs but at U.S.Cellular Field in Chicago with all the WhiteSox fans rooting for the Marlins. That might level the playing field a bit and give the Fish much more legitimacy regarding revenue. And its a field that more mirrors PPS than funky Wrigley. ****** LOLOLOL I stopped writing to have dinner, came back, posted and realize we've all had THE SAME IDEA !!!!!! ******* :brigginbounce :brigginbounce
September 6, 200420 yr The Marlins could print up 20,000 Marlins t-shirts and give them out. Oh, I just love it.

September 6, 200420 yr I say we all protest because I waisted a lot of money to go to all 3 games and now look what's going on.
