MIAMI - The Florida Marlins moved the start time of Thursday's game against the New York Mets up two hours, clearing the way for a possible double-header Friday in Chicago.

The Thursday game will now be played at 1:05 p.m. EDT.

The Marlins postponed a three-game weekend series against the Cubs because of Hurricane Frances. The games have not been rescheduled, but the Marlins and Cubs were considering playing one of them in Chicago this weekend. The Marlins would lose a home game, but probably get to bat last at Wrigley Field.

Team officials declined to say whether a double-header is being planned for Friday.

By making the change against the Mets, it would give the Marlins more time off before Friday's potential double-header.

The remaining two postponed games likely will be played Monday, Sept. 20 - the only common day off for the two clubs.

The Marlins trailed the Cubs by 2 1/2 games in the race for the NL wild card.

This hurricane is ruining me. I was gonna get to that game at 3pm from school, but now there's another game I'm gonna miss out on.

Ok, I must pray for rain on Thursday, so I can get to this game. What a letdown, though, but an afternoon rain shower is certainly not out of the question.

so u want the game to start later just so u could go,but u dont care if the team starts later so they arent tired for the possible double header the next day?therefore removing the whole point in why they would start earlier. sacrifice ur needs for the team way to go :thumbup

Earlier start time = less people there. This team feeds off the energy inside the stadium and plays like a totally different club when there's a packed house.

I'll be there though :) .

Yep indeed.

I don't think they're going to play much different whether they get to Chicago at 9pm or 11pm, so yeah I wanna go to the game.

RAIN RAIN RAIN!

He's right.

If we're going for the sweep, plus the 10th straight win, hell yeah I wanna go, and there'd be a bigger crowd at 3.
