Who would have ever thought the smallest market out of the ones posted is pack-loaded with meteorologists. All 4 stations spend more money on weather than anything else and it shows.

WINK-TV has 4 meteorologists, WBBH-TV has 3 meteorologists and 1 forecaster, WZVN-TV has 3 meteorologists, and WFTX-TV has 2 meteorologists. All 4 chiefs are constantly battling for the latest computers, audience, and awards.

The News-Press awards a "Best of Southwest Florida" award for Best TV Meteorologist. This is the grand prize and it is voted by readers of the News-Press (like myself). See this year's winner and runner up.

Here is the quick run down of toys:

WINK-TV has Super Doppler, SkyCam helicopter, and that very nice news team.

WBBH-TV and WZVN-TV share First Alert Doppler, 2View Camera Network, and WeatherBug network.

WFTX-TV has MicroCast and it's nice Street Doppler.

I'm glad you think that :D

I'll have to go with the WINK guy, since the only news I watch when I go to FT. Myers ever summer.

My only complaint about WINK is Marissa Oakes has a hard time with the TelePrompter.

WBBH/WZVN are way too perky about the forecasts and they don't satisfy my need for a complete forecast.

WFTX needs the morning newscast and some more live cameras. Dave Roberts does a great job, but he can't do it alone. WFTX also didn't have coverage during Charley and I fully understand as they are a couple of miles down Pine Island Road and Charley was really bad here in the North Cape.
