Perisho smells. :thumbdown

That would be the sweet smell of success, or in this case victory, my hirsute friend :thumbup

Since McKeon found someone other than Benitez to trust in the bullpen he's been able to use Perisho in situations that he can be successful. I still can't get over how Jack was using a Matt "I walk every other batter" Perisho against anyone, anytime. The guy is a capable reliever, but has his limits (ie, battling against his command and righties) like most baseball players.

perisho gets the job done i have no problem with him.... 3.96 era overall....lefties are hitting .162 against him...and he has 37 k's in 38 innings....he gets the job done....i dont know why u people hate on him when we have much worse in our bull pen

Now that he's being used as strictly a lefty specialist I have no problem with his contribution to the team. However for a good part of the first half he'd come in walk the first batter he faced (almost always a lefty too), maybe induce an out or two and be taken out for someone else to take care of his baserunner(s). Considering the amount of baserunners he put on (41+ in 27 IP) and the short stints he was out there, the only explanation as why his ERA was so low is that te relievers who followed him cleaned up his mess. Phelps, Bump, Wayne, Borland, etc. weren't horrible and were able to get job done most nights.
