The D-Train is going to Japan!

Recommended Posts

D-Train headed for Japan: Dontrelle Willis will represent the Marlins in the series that will match Major League stars against All-Stars from Japan. The series will take place in early November.

Two years ago, former Marlins Brad Penny and Derrek Lee each played in the series.

"I talked to Brad about it, and I'm real excited to go and represent this organization and Major League Baseball," said Willis, who is 10-9 with a 3.86 ERA.

At age 15, Willis played in the Friendship Games in Japan. Back then, he stayed with a host family that still keeps in touch with him.

Willis said he gets e-mails about once a month from the family. The family has sent pictures of themselves wearing Marlins hats.
