October 3, 200420 yr To the people who keep track of these things... what is happening out there in the big Atlantic? 579436 Not much in the Atlantic. There is a disturbance in the southern Caribbean that would likely head towards Texas if it ever develops. This time of year it is more likely storms will come up from the Caribbean or from the Gulf. Few long track storms from the African coast can make it across this late in the season.
October 3, 200420 yr thats a relief. 579543 Sham, in other words, ones in the Carribean and Gulf tend to head north than northeast right as Florida...
October 3, 200420 yr I think we spent the entire month of September either 1) getting ready for a hurricane 2) going through a hurricane 3) getting over a hurricane It was nice in Broward county to finally spend a Saturday outside.
October 3, 200420 yr I still managed to spend part of the day getting things back to normal around the house....taking a break to watch a few ball games...and then will get back to work.
October 7, 200420 yr Spent this weekend making quickie roof patches done after Francis sort of semi-permanent until I get around to doing a new roof. Jeanne only tore a few new shingles off, Francis took most of what was subject to lifting off it seems. The next roof isn't going to be the cheapo builder's special crap. Looks like GAF Timberline Ultra, Atlas, Owens Corning high-wind, or a metal shingle is the way to go. They're all guaranteed to 110mph+. The ordinary crap departs at 60mph (but I've seen poorly installed ones leaving at 40-50mph) 582717 Sorry to hear that. It sounds like you didn't have to go the blue tarp route. Anyway to get your insurance to pay for the new roof?
