Friedman in the end though basically states that globalization is inevitable but ultimately more good than bad. And i totally agree; as a realist I think somethings do need to be done in order to make sure that situations dont get worse for people in 3rd world countries b/c of this. Of course you have to remember that lets say coca cola goes to cambodia and they pay cambodian workers 10 US cents an hour for their work. Thats appalling, but is the alternative for these cambodians if coke wasnt there to be unemployed or working for less. Or maybe there should be a global minimum wage based on liveable wage per country scale. Who knows? But globalization is good and globalization will lead to more peace

They may be getting paid pennies over there, but in actuality, they are helping the Cambodian (insert any developing country) economic situation. Globalization will also help working conditions in foreign countries. Not because these corporations have good hearts and feel bad for the workers, but because they feel pressure.
October 22, 200421 yr globalization, for religious reasons for me personally, is scary if it gets out of hand. A One World Nation is scary stuff (i.e. Book of Revelation).

And it isn't the U.S. It's a business. Hooters isn't US government. Hooters, through studies and research, probably realized that they have a good chance of making a buttload of money by opening up a restaurant in China. It has little to do with the U.S. government "spreading democracy".
