Posted November 3, 200420 yr I predicted a Kerry victory and had no intentions of being quite as s***ty about my candidate's defeat as the Democrats around town and on this board are about theirs. I looked forward to seeing what Kerry would do as President. Who knows, maybe it would turn out that he wouldn't be so bad? In any case, Senator Kerry has graciously accepted defeat. When will his supporters follow suit? Grow up people.
November 3, 200420 yr I actually think the dems on this board have been quite mature about the situation. But you are right, in general around the country, the democrats are being big babies about this.
November 3, 200420 yr No. Bush is a fascist. What you saw for the past 4 years comparatively was a choir boy awaiting re-election. Now you are watching a 4-year lame duck with no accountability. Trust me: the American people will rue the day Bush was re-elected. More war, more debt, more "moral values" jammed down my throat. I hope you enjoy your "summer vacation" in Fallujah, because I'll be right behind you to prod you with my bayonet. Oh, and I'm bitter right now.

Oh, and I'm bitter right now. 607696 They said the same thing about Harry S Truman. His approval ratings were in the 30s. In hindsight, he was the best President ever, IMO, certainly in the Top 10 for anyone.
November 3, 200420 yr things hasn't gone their way in a long time. Losing an election by 500 votes in 00 and then this defeat. The country has not been happy with the DNC. You don't lose the Presidency and the power of the senate and Congress like this. With a President that was very beatable.
November 3, 200420 yr At least we havent claimed the Bushies cheated like in 2000. But yes were tired of all this moral thing being shoved down our throats like BullDurham said. This election was decided because of gay marriages and abortion and other moral issues. Instead of the more important issues like terrorism, the war on Iraq and the economy just to name a few that people should put ahead before morals. I just hope Bush starts leaning a bit more to the center and tries to unite this country instead of splitting it apart even more.

November 3, 200420 yr I just hope Bush starts leaning a bit more to the center and tries to unite this country instead of splitting it apart even more. 607721 As much as I would love for this to happen, he really has no incentive to. Then again, I hold out hope for humanity.

November 4, 200420 yr Bush can't run for re-election in 08. 608088 Thank God! That's the only positive I see here.
November 4, 200420 yr Bush can't run in 08' but Hillary can. If the dems are dumb enough to nominate her as they were to nominate Kerry this year, it won't matter who the Republicans run. Hillary doesn't just have a skeleton closet, she's got a whole barn full of them waiting to blow up in her face. 608111 Hopefully the dems do nominate some uber liberal like Hillary, that would guarantee a victory for the republicans.

He's going to get even more things done, and most of the Bush voters realize this (if they put 2 minutes of thought into this election). I look forward to great strides in abortion, keeping 2nd amendment rights, more tax cuts, and a continued effort at making our country safe.

The Democrats are not going to become more conservative just because John Kerry ran a bad campaign, and they shouldn't have to apologize for not freaking out over gay rights.

I hope so, then people in Ohio and Missouri will realize what a mistake they made siding with the bible-beaters and toss the Republicans out of the House.
November 4, 200420 yr I just hate evangelicals who voted because of moral issues, otherwise I no gripes. I think Bush and the Repbus will consolidate their gains, not push even farther. A smart strategist consolidates after a big win.

Young voters made a lot of noice, but at the end didn't show up. How come you don't blame them?

Nothing like marginalizing the opinions of 53 million people. :plain

You should be very worried about this.
