lol nvm found it

Carlos Delgado will make just $4 million this season under the terms of the four-year deal he's agreed to with the Marlins.

Delgado will receive $13.5 million in 2006, $14.5 million in 2007 and $16 million in 2008, and the deal would include a $16 million option for 2009 that would become guaranteed based on how Delgado does in MVP voting and whether he earns postseason MVP awards. If the option doesn't become guaranteed, Florida would have the right to exercise a $12 million option. If the option is declined, Delgado would get a $4 million buyout. Jan. 25 - 5:31 pm et

Only mentioned 5 or 6 times in other Delgado threads. :D

Excellent move on Beinfest's part. Certain to keep Delgado motivated througout the contract.

forgive me if the details have been posted 10 times, but the option year details are wild....

if Delgado accrues a certain amount of "points" his 5th season AUTOMATICALLY kicks in at 16 million.

During his first 4 years, for MVP voting he gets 10 points for MVP, 9 for second-place, and so on, down to 1 point for 10th place.

He can get 20 points for WS MVP and 10 for NLCS MVP.

You know you've got a superstar when you're just figuring how close to MVP he gets every season..... :o
