I decided to go to the game in Vero today. Boy I love watching a game in Dodgertown. Anyway, Brian Moehler started and he pitched pretty good, but not as good as his #'s indicate. The wind was blowing in about 20-30 mph. There was 2 hits that Moehler gave up that probably would've been homers on most other days. Moehler also was bailed out by Castillo who made 3 spectacular plays at 2nd base. Les Walrond came in after him and pitched 3 innings. He looked good other than I think he gave up 2 or 3 walks. He gave up 1 hard hit right down the line but Willingham made an unbelievable stab at 1st base. (too bad he seems to have forgotten how to hit over the offseason.) Crowell came in for 1 inning and pitched well, I think they went 1-2-3 but I'm not sure. Perisho was all over the place. Walked 2 and hit 1 batter, but was bailed out by a double play. Mota came in to get the save and looked solid.

As for the offense, it was pretty bad. The 3 runs were basically handed to us. Ishii walked a couple and there were 3 errors in that same inning. I don't think we got a hit in the inning we scored 3 runs. The one bright spot though was Encarnacion, (as much as I hate to say it.) he had 3 at-bats and absolutely crushed the ball each at bat. First at-bat he rocketed one right at the right fielder. The 2nd at-bat he smoked a double to right-center field. The 3rd at-bat He crushed to left-center field, it would've been gone any other day, but like I said the wind was brutal.

Thanks Farmer Fran!

We were out-hit 7 to 4 and managed only 3 unearned runs.

But your news on Willinghams 1B defense and Enc AB's gives us a little to hold onto.

Maybe you could squeeze more out of your memory.

Did you get to see Stokes and/or Hermida? If so, which major league player is their batting stances most comparable to?

Hermida had an at-bat. I can't really recall exactly, what his stance looked like but if I remember correctly he has a somewhat open stance. Sorry, that I couldn't be of more help.

This task you're trying to complete is interesting yet pathetic.

Plenty of candidates for that job. Look at the possible starting rotation for the Albuquerque Isotopes:

Frank Castillo

Brian Moehler

Nate Bump

Justin Wayne

Trevor Hutchinson

Ben Howard

Is Hutch injured? I don't think he's played yet this spring training.

It's okay FF...take a deep breathe...everything is fine...there is nothing wrong with rooting for a player on the Marlins...we are all hoping Enc has a great season...even RFerry.

I should've rephrased that. We all hope that he'll have a great season, but in the end I just feel we are better off with someone else in right field.
