I was having this descussion witht the retards on the ESPN board, heard some stupid opinions, wondering what you think?? I say San Diego with La a close second... there arent many teams with a 7-9th innings like Linebrink, Otsuka, and Hoffman. They also aquired Hammond to take care of leftys and depth with Neal, Seanez and Reyes...

LA looks impressive as with with a great 7-9 as well with Carrara, Brazoban and Gagne, with one of the best Lefty specialist in the game in Kelly Wunsch. And quality middle and long relief with Duaner Sanchez, Alverez, and Dessens.

Also Arizona has a chance to be one of the best if Aquino pans out, you have Valverde and Kaplove blowing away batters in earlier innings, Choate a shaky Lefty but Lyon and Bruney are supposed to be big pieced in the pen...

A couple more are Phillie, With Wagner and Madsen healthy and with Worrel back in the setup role. Rheal Cormier and Fultz not very bad leftys to have, especially Cormier effective now days (Kerrigan actually did something...) Telemaco should be in long relief...

...And Cards fell off this year with Kline and Calero gone, and Mike Myers should be hell, Cards fans hope Carmen Cali is ready soon. you should see some nobodies in middle relief, guys like Al Reyes. Cal Eldred will be a nice middle or long relief option.

Cincinnati also looks much better this year with

newly aquired Ben Weber setting up with highly touted and closer of the future Ryan Wagner, theyll be setting up Graves who lead the league in saves most of the season... Thell also have Weathers and Merker newly aquired...

The Phillies without a doubt.

Any opinion why?

A healthy Wagner, a healthy Worrell and Madson for a whole year. If you are trailing after 6 you are in serious trouble. Their problem is their starters, their pen is one of the best, or the best imo.

IMO there are other 7-9 as good or better than Phillie, with more debth as well, Phillie is one of the ebst but it hink SD and La are deeper

People are seriously under-rating the Phillies.

If your counting me im very much not... I believe the Starting rotation is overrated, but with Burrell hitting this spring and Abreu and Thome one of the best hitters in the national league, you know theyre going to score as mu7ch as anyone can... And just because i dont think Phillie has the best bullpen its still very very good, just not the best IMO... I tihnk the Phillies will contend this year, in no way do I see them in a deferent league than Atlanta and Florida...

Nothing beats Hoffman, Linebrink, Otsuka, Hammond and Seanez.

Worrell and Cormier are both 39 years old now and were both much less effective then the year before... and Wagner has a f***ed up rotator cuff. Madson is good though.

Wagner ahead of schedule and 100%, he started his offseason work a month ahead of shedule and he expects a great season. He also said the shoulder is as good as new... But still otherwise your right, Worrell should be better in a comfortable setup role this year if everyone stays healthy but no where near what Otsuka or Linebrink can do, and theres no proof that Madsen with be that effective for a full season... SD much better

Giants.

:lol :lol

They only have 5 of the 7 slots filled now and the 5 are okay at best. Benitez is nasty, Brower is a horse, but then Christianson, and Eyre are nothing great,

Herges pitched horribly last year and the next two spots are filled with journey under expieience journeyman, Kinney, Franklin, Foppert, Fikac, or Fassero. Thre good if your looking for a pen with alot of F's... :plain

Dodgers, as long as they have Gagne and play in Dodger stadium, they will have a sick pen. Not to mention, Brazoban is making them forget about Mota, and Jackson could spend time in the bullpen as a long-reliever/set-up man...

all that matters is the closer. Good closer, the middle relief falls into place.

While the GIants don't have the best, if Benitez pitches like he did last year, then they will be up there...

plus the middle relief isn't all that bad...

Brower could be a top notch setup guy if he wasn't overworked

Herges just couldn't handle the closer's role, he's good as a middle reliever

Eyre is in a lot better shape than last year and could be a top notch lefty reliever if Felipe used him right

Christiansen was still recovering from Tommy John most of last year, but he has great velocity

Foppert was the #1 pitching prospect in baseball just two years ago, look for him to have a strong second half once he fully recovers from Tommy John

The last spot should go to Tyler Walker, he pitched pretty well last year (especially when facing the Marlins)
