Beckett had a solid outing. He had 1 bad inning where he gave up the 1 run, because he was having trouble locating his breaking ball, but other than that he looked great. Mecir came in the game in the 7th, and looked great, he was throwing strikes and his screwball was filthy, hopefully he's turned the corner. Alfonseca looked good too.

The offense looked terrible. I swear to God if I see Lenny Harris hit 1 more weak groung ball to 2nd base my heads going to explode. The only positives I can think of is that Delgado hit a shot that would've been gone any other day, but the wind was blowing hard in. Willingham was crushing the ball in batting practice but unfortunately he didn't get in the game.

I checked out the box score just before coming here and I noticed Mecir was credited with pitching one inning and had three strikeouts. Struck out the side, not bad ! :mischief2

Where is the box score?

How did DiFelice earn his error? Throwing?

It really wasn't his fault although the throw was a little off, it happened on the play in your picture. He threw down to 2nd and the runner knocked the ball out of Gonzalez's hand, and the runner advanced to 3rd.

For Sledge to reach second that fast and Alex to have caught that, it had to hit off the ground first before coming up to belt level near the bag.

If that's the case, it was a great throw.

actually I didn't phrase that right, Sledge was stealing on the play. The throw was a little to the right side of the bag and that's why he's reaching to the right(his left).

He got the error on the other throw he made in the 5th-6th inning that sailed into center. He also didn't show much at the plate. I hope enjoys Alburquerque.
