i voted yes because this topic has come up far to often...the marlin hitters have to many ups and downs...guys like A.Gon have not improved so IMO we should have replaced him already...I think if the the Break this team is not hitting he'll be gone...and if there tearing it up we'll all have bill robinson for prez bumper stickers on our cars..

It's definatly time for a new hitting coach. Robinson really hasn't helped anyone really improve.

You're right before Choi came here last year he was a guy who hit .250+ and had over a .350 obp.

Not really...

I've never seen a hitting coach fired in spring training, why be the first. Beinfest must trust him or he would have been out of here during the off-season. Personally hitting coaches are given too much credit when the hitters are going well and way too much when they struggle.

Let's face it: none of us knows for sure who Robinson has helped and who he hasn't, what he's suggested and what he hasn't, and what excatly he does on a daily basis. Devoid of that information, I can't really say whether he should be fired or not.

Right now? No, he should not be fired.

If our offense is just plain horrible like it was last year and if our bats aren't producing like they should be after 1-2 months into the season, then yes I believe he should be replaced, but don't fire him right now.

I wish the poll had a "depends on how our offense is doing after 1 month" option.

I'm pretty sure Jack gets the final say when it comes to who his coaches are and not Beinfest.

we have a team of experienced veterans who know how to hit. What exactly is Bill Robinson going to do or any other coach going to do? Pitching coaches are more affective because mechanics can go wacky(Mulder) and they have to fix it. But its not as if any of our hitters last year went well below their career averages. In fact Id make the argument he did well since Cabs developed so well under his tenure.
