Posted March 30, 200519 yr Mets claimed infielder Wilson Valdez off waivers from the White Sox. Valdez entered the spring with a better chance of claiming a job than Pablo Ozuna, but his hopes faded as Ozuna hit everything in sight. The Mets won't keep him on their major league roster, so he'll be back on waivers again later this week. They'll assign him to Triple-A Norfolk if he clears next time through fyi, Ozuna hit .521(25/48)
March 30, 200519 yr I sure wouldn't mind Wilson Valdez back in our organization again but I suspect the front office is high enough on Robert Andino that he's not a priority.

I'm surprised Ozzie couldn't find a spot for him in the organization. I'd rather have Wilson Delgado.

I always thought he was the heir apparent to AGon and I was surprised when he was traded. I followed his career for two years in the minors. That said, he is where he is and is who he is. I'll defer to the FO on not re-signing him.
March 30, 200519 yr Knowing the way baseball is...he'll probably end up signing with the Muts and will someday have a key hit to beat the Marlins. Hopefully Wilson Delgado will do something similar to the Muts this year! :thumbup
March 30, 200519 yr Wilson Delgado is nothing special. I hope he doesn't make the team. 724165[/snapback] Thanks so much for your insight. It is greatly appreciated. I'm curious, who would you like to see back-up Castillo and Gonzo after Easley has been used off the bench??? :mischief2
March 30, 200519 yr Andino won't be major league ready for how long though, at least a year or two, right?
