Accord
Selig said he will remain commissioner until no later than 2009. "I promise you I will be gone. By that time, I will be 75 and if I'm not gone, you should get somebody in a jacket here to make sure that I am gone." :thumbup

Guest Moneyball
You guys don't give Selig enough credit. I'm not saying he's perfect, but he has accomplished a lot in his tenure. - 4 expansion teams - The addition of the Wild Card - The explosion of new ballparks. - Revenue sharing. - Attendance records in the ML. - The renewed popularity of baseball. - Drug testing. Three of those things that I've mentioned were very important to the Marlins.

Three of those things that I've mentioned were very important to the Marlins. Alot that explosion of new ballparks has done for us. The Wild Card in my opinion is the only thing that you can point at and say this is was a great idea. Revenue Sharing is good but it encourages teams like the Devil Rays to just stash money without a punishment for being below a certain level. The drug testing is a joke, it still is really. Baseball has renewed popularity, but after a dramatic homer chase, shattering of a few records, and great postseasons, it still isn't up to the level it was pre-strike (ballparks fit more people now hence the reason why the attendance figures are higher, don't go by those), a strike Selig helped to create and prolong. And let's not forget the travesties with the All Star games, one we can also share in personally, but also the declaring of the game a tie and then the just wonderful idea to make it determine home field advantage in the World Series. How is home field going to be determined this year anyways?
Guest Moneyball
I think the old fashion way. I remember hearing something about it not being approved for this year.
