1. Matt Leinart Sr. QB USC

Heisman winner threw for 33 TDs in '05.

2. D'Brickashaw Ferguson Sr. OT Virginia

Gifted athlete would have been top-5 in '05.

3. Chad Greenway Sr. LB Iowa

Great size (6-4, 245) and 113 tackles last year.

4. DeAngelo Williams Sr. RB Memphis

1,948 yards and 22 TDs in '05.

5. A.J. Hawk Sr. LB Ohio St.

141 tackles and a pair of INTs last season.

6. Marcus McNeill Sr. OT Auburn

6-9, 377-pound neutralizer at left tackle.

7. Eric Winston Sr. OT Miami

Knee injury cut short '05 season.

8. Mathias Kiwanuka Sr. DE B.C.

24.5 TFL and 11.5 sacks in '05.

9. Rodrique Wright Sr. DL Texas

Disruptive force all along the line.

10. Jimmy Williams Sr. CB Virginia Tech

60 tackles, 5 INTs and 14 PBUs in '05.

And of course Greenway is ahead of Hawk. :)

I'm not a fan of Matt Leinart. His armstrength leaves something to be desired, he plays weak competition, and he has outrageous talent. I could throw for 20 TDs for USC.

He only sliced up Oklahoma for his best game of the year.... :plain

And Iowa, Greenway may be the better pro prospect right now, but they still have a season to go.

Plus, the better pro prospect doesnt mean you were the better college player.

Not saying he isnt better, just pointing that out. But for the Big 10 to have 2 of the top 5 picks at linebacker is beast.

The top overall LB prospect is Ahmad Brooks, from Virginia, I would have to say. He is only a junior technically (spent a year in prep school and will be 4 years removed from HS next year), but he is just nasty. 6'4'', 250 and runs in the 4.5 range.

He probably would have been the #1 LB this year if he came out as a third-year-sophomore. He is an unreal talent and could easily be a top 5 pick next year. Watch for him come draft time.

I also really like Ernie Simms and the way he plays, but he could use the extra time to bulk up, since he is a little light for LB right now but is also only a junior. He is a fierce hitter.
