I know its way too early to be thinking about this but I just wondered who might replace Encarnacion next year in right field?

Encarnacion?

As you said, it's too early.

But if he plays like he did in the first month of the season then there won't be any replacement for him.

Encarnacion?

Were paying him $4,435,000, 5th most on the team.

If he wants to get re-signed then he's going to have to play like he did in April. If not, then we'll probably go out and sign someone else to replace him, because were not going to pay him all that money to play crappy.

So there's a big chance that were going to sign someone else in place of him next season.

We aren't signing anyone. We are going to fill this hole from within the organization. No need to spend a couple million in a replacement that will be at best another Enc.

Hermida or Willy will do the job.

we're going to need the extra money to sign AJ, so it'll be Willy or Hermida.

Hopefully, I hope you're right.

And even though they would have a low salary, and therefore, they would be playing as though deserving more money they would be getting paid, I would really rather have a veteran, someone with experience and that I could place my trust on, rather than another rockie.

Who wouldn't want to have a veteran?

But this is small market baseball, at some point every small team has to call-up a prospect and see what happens in the majors. This is just how the cycle is. We have been spoiled by the rapid success of Willis and Cabrera. People will have to get used to that 'other rookie' and the growing pains they will go through.

I wouldnt necessarily put spoiled and Florida Marlins in the same sentence when it comes to rookies. Two words: Todd Dunwoody.

And yeah, Im rooting for Hermida.

how are they doing in the minors this year?

Hermida's basically been guaranteed a starting job when he reaches the majors since 2002. Willingham and Aguila are stalking the situation though. Conine, too, but he'll have to make his decision before spring training.

It's Hermida's job to lose.
